I Cannot Stop Myself from Thinking that Food is Often Extraordinary

Some of the best moments in my life are related to food.  I attended the Wine, Women & Jazz event this evening, as mentioned earlier this week, and discovered a new favorite flavor:  Romesco Sauce.  I am reliably told that this sauce has Spanish origins, but it is not spicy at all.  The rich and deep flavor comes from a combination of nuts including almonds mixed with roasted tomatoes and garlic.  This evening the sauce was served with pan seared sea bass – yum!

All of the food at the event was delicious, made by the chefs at ACI.  If you missed this year’s event, bookmark the time for next year.  Great food, great wine, great jazz and all to support the Arizona Women’s Partnership.  Extraordinary.

AZWP and ACI’s Wine, Woman, & Jazz

I do believe that charity, fundraising, or philanthropy can be extraordinary when you have the means to be helpful to a worthwhile organization. If you live in the Phoenix area, there is an event this weekend that you should consider attending. The Arizona Culinary Institute is hosting its 9th Annual Wine, Women, and Jazz evening to benefit the Arizona Women’s Partnership, a non-profit that supports at risk women and children. All of the funds raised will be put to work here in our own communities.

The details are:

  • Wine, WoMEN & Jazz FUNdraiser
  • Saturday, April 17, 2010
  • ACI campus, 10585 N 116th St (Shea Blvd)
  • 4:00 – 6:30 PM
  • Tickets $55 advance, $65 at the door

There will be plenty of hors d’oeuvers and desserts, all paired with special wines. The jazz vocalists Margo Reed, Delphine Cortez, and Blaise Lantana will be accompanied by the Joel Robin Trio.
